Enhanced photoelectrochemical performance of CeO2 functionalized TiO2 nanotube arrays with Ag coating

چکیده

The photoelectrochemical performance of Ag coated CeO2 functionalized TiO2 nanotube arrays (AgCeTNT) is investigated here. sample prepared via three steps, such as synthesis by electrochemical anodization, functionalization hydrothermal and coating Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption Reaction (SILAR) method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis showed the anatase phase formation after annealing nanotubes. Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopic (FESEM) images conformal coverage nanoparticles on surface Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDX) confirmed presence Ce, Ag, Ti O in AgCeTNT sample. Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (DRS) study revealed enhancement visible light sensitivity with further coating. measurement that exhibits improved compared to bare nanotubes (TNT), (CeTNT) (AgTNT) under illumination sunlight. This improvement happeneddue combined effect favorable band alignment Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) nanoparticles, which lead superior charge separation, efficient transport enhanced response.
